Baltimore BGE Building Roof Collapse After Explosion
An explosion at Baltimore's BGE building on December 23, 2020, caused a partial roof collapse. Nine people were reported critically injured. Construction work was underway on the building's air-handling and boiler systems. BGE said the work likely caused the incident and that it was not related to natural gas, as gas service to the building was inactive during the construction. A suspended scaffold dropped during the incident, leaving two workers stranded for about 45 minutes before they were rescued. Neither worker was injured.
