Arecibo Telescope Cable Tears Hole in Reflector Dish
On August 10, 2020, an auxiliary cable snapped at Puerto Rico's Arecibo Observatory and crashed through the radio telescope's reflector dish. The failure caused extensive damage, tearing a 100-foot hole in the reflector.  ·
