Chris Benoit: Sheriff's Case File, Crime Scene Photos and Voicemails
Christopher Michael Benoit was a Canadian professional wrestler who was born May 21, 1967, and died June 24, 2007. He wrestled for Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). His nicknames were "The Crippler", "The Canadian Crippler" and "The Rabid Wolverine". Before his death, Benoit was regarded as one of professional wrestling's most popular and respected performers and one of its best technical wrestlers. Benoit, his wife Nancy, and their 7-year-old son Daniel were found dead in their Fayetteville, Georgia home on June 25, 2007. WWE officials had alerted police after Benoit missed several live appearances. Authorities concluded that Benoit killed his wife and son, then hanged himself. Deputies arrived for a welfare check at about 2:39 p.m. Daniel was found in his upstairs bedroom, Nancy in the family room on the main floor, and Chris in the basement weight room. Deputies found no forced entry and no signs of a struggle anywhere in the house. Dr. Eisenstat's autopsy reports classified Daniel's and Nancy's deaths as homicides and Chris's death as suicide by hanging. The records from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, released through a public records request filed on MuckRock in March 2025, are posted later in this thread. The release for case number 0705855 includes the redacted 464-page Criminal Investigations Division (CID) case file, the redacted 5-page incident report, 223 crime scene photos, and two audio files labeled "House VMs" and "VM to Parker". The released photos show the house and its rooms, not Chris, Nancy or Daniel Benoit. "House VMs" contains answering-machine messages recorded by investigators on June 26, 2007. "VM to Parker" is a voicemail Chris Benoit left for WWE wrestler Michael Parker on June 23, 2007. The documents and case details start on page 2 of the thread. |

Very interesting, thank you. While Benoit may have had some head trauma, he also was regularly prescribed a 10 month supply of steroids every 6 weeks. His autopsy found he had ten times the normal level of testosterone is his body. I understand that dad wants to blame anything other than his darling son, but come on!  |

that religious link that doctor says is pretty interesting they're saying these guys got brain damaged and as a result towards the ends of their lives became more religious. |

The steroid thing is way over rated. It wasn't "some" head trauma, he had the brain of an 80 YO altheimers patient from countless concussions. Your government is trying to demonize steroids like they do with pot. There hasn't been one study yet about the long term affects. |

He had the brain of an 80 year old alzheimer's patient my ass! I take care of my dad who is a 78 year old alzheimer's patient. I f'ing guarantee you Chris 'the boner' Benoit was perfectly capable of feeding himself, bathing himself, wiping his own ass, remembering who his relatives were, Didn't get lost in his own neighborhood while taking a ten-minute walk, knew what year it was, knew what a TV is when he had just seen one the day before, and didn't hallucinate that it is 1949 and he has to hurry to get to school.  |

I've watched Pro wrestling, all of my life. I remember when that happened, vividly. He was a great performer, but a troubled human.
