The problem with the likes of the Amber Alert, as I see it, is that these type of things help to prop up the illusion that the threat of stranger abduction is both ever-present and pervasive when, in reality, children are far more likely to be harmed by those whom they are related to.

As tragic as what such cases are, abductions by strangers are still extremely rare occurences. Indeed, children are far more likely to be sexually assaulted by a relative or family friend.

No unfortunately they didn't. Any DNA that would've been on her was washed away because she was found in water or a body of water. That's why they've never been able to find anything at all...

After they captured the East Area Rapist in 2018, I was really hopeful that they would capture the piece of shit responsible for this murder. I'm still hopeful but this one may continue unsolved for many more years unfortunately.
