A stalled seasonal front brought torrential downpours across eastern and central Japan on September 11 and 12, 2025, causing widespread disruption and flooding.

Tokyo was flooded and subways were submerged as the storm caused transportation paralysis, emergency evacuations, and damage to homes and infrastructure in multiple cities.

The heaviest impacts were in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, where record-breaking rainfall triggered one of the most severe urban floods in recent years.
