– At 10:44, the police received a report of a major rockslide on E134. The road is blocked, and people who were nearby have sought shelter in a tunnel close by, reports operations leader Dag Steinkopf of the South-West Police District in the police log.
Steinkopf states that buildings in the vicinity have been hit by the rockslide.
– There are no reports of personal injuries or anyone being caught in the slide, he informs.

The car belonged to Frode Mæland and Christian Lee was sitting in it before the slide.

If I had eaten breakfast a little faster today, I wouldn't be here, said Lee.

He saw his friend's car being swept away by the landslide. Christian Lee and Frode Mæland were on a fishing trip when the landslide occurred.

The car was parked along the sea, not too far from the pier.

“If it had stopped ten minutes earlier, we would have been in the car,” says Lee.

Mette Heidi Bergsvåg Ekrheim, mayor of Etne municipality, said that twelve people were evacuated.
