June 2024 Rainstorms Flood Guangxi Cities
On June 19, 2024, Guangxi was reported to have been hit by heavy rainfall that caused severe urban flooding in several areas. The main affected cities were Guilin, Hezhou, and Liuzhou. Average rainfall totals were recorded at 323.7 mm in Guilin, 249.8 mm in Hezhou, and 210.4 mm in Liuzhou. Reports also described rivers overflowing, dams on high alert, and a Guangxi city facing its worst floods in decades. In Guilin, Xing'an, Yongfu, and Lingchuan counties saw frequent extreme rainfall events.
