Flooding Hits Liaoning After Reservoir Sluice Gates Open
Continuous heavy rainfall in Liaoning Province starting on August 19, 2024 led to severe flooding in Huludao City and Chaoyang City. Several reservoirs opened their sluice gates, inundating multiple towns and villages. Reports said houses were destroyed and a bridge collapsed. The Flood Control and Drought Relief Command issued a notice that the Gongshanzui Reservoir water level had approached the flood control limit.
