Flash Flooding Sweeps Cars Away in Havza, Samsun
On May 12, a severe weather outbreak hit northern Turkey, with powerful thunderstorms, torrential rain, hailstorms, and strong winds across large parts of the country. In Samsun province on the Black Sea coast, intense rainfall triggered dangerous flash flooding. Havza was among the affected areas, with neighborhoods submerged, vehicles swept away, homes and businesses flooded, and transportation brought to a standstill across several districts.
