Flash Flooding Submerges Areas of Guangdong
Heavy rain hit Guangdong on April 20, 2024, including Shaoguan, Qingyuan, Zhaoqing, and northern parts of the Pearl River Delta. Reports described dam discharges, a river burst, flash flooding that submerged streets, homes, and vehicles, and disruption at an airport. Across the province, 414 towns recorded heavy rain totals of more than 50 mm.
