EF2 Tornado in China That Killed at Least 11 People, Injuring 330
China. An EF2 wedge tornado tore through the cities of Huanggang and Ezhou in the central province of Hubei on Monday evening, July 6, 2026, between 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM local time. It killed at least 11 people and injured over 330 others. Local authorities have deployed thousands of emergency personnel as rescue efforts continue through the debris. The vortex battered the densely populated municipalities of Huanggang and Ezhou for nearly four hours, packing catastrophic winds of up to 149 km/h (93 mph). Eyewitness footage captured the terrifying moment the massive wedge tornado illuminated the night sky, throwing debris into the air and blowing out transformer grids. The tornado made 22 buildings to collapse entirely within minutes. More than 4,850 homes and commercial properties sustained severe damage. Widespread blackouts plunged entire neighborhoods into total darkness.Vehicles were flipped or tossed like toys due to the violent updrafts. In neighboring Ezhou, a man was reportedly sucked directly out of his 12th-story apartment window by the intense low pressure of the vortex. |

The cloud formation is incredible looking .  The last video is horrifying. Seeing the man stuck in the wind with all the debris flying is pretty scary…  Great post! |

Keep in mind the 22 buildings collapsing has less to do with the intensity of the tornado and more to do with chinese building quality. Would you feel safe inside a house where concrete is made of styrofoam when a tornado hits you?

Well the CCP always says "Below 30 threshold" Report of fatality casualty, no matter how ridiculously massive the damages are in the surrounding. You are telling me, that in a city that highly populated, with tofu dreg quality buildings, only 11 deaths? ck ck ck. |

These people are absolutely ignorant to what a tornado actually is they are in their motor bikes like nothings going to happen and walking around outside lol   |

Looks more like an EF3. We had a 90+ mph straight line wind a few years ago in my Chicago suburb. The weathervane blew off my roof and my Colorado spruce had its top bent sideways for a year before it straightened. We didn't have power lines sparking and Chinese people flying thru the air.
