Close-range Tornado Footage Near Effingham, Illinois
A powerful tornado was filmed southeast of Effingham, Illinois, during a close-range chase on June 17, 2026. The footage includes a rotating funnel near Bethany, a tornado-warned storm near Charleston, and a rain-wrapped tornado in the Charleston area. The chase then followed the tornado as it approached Effingham, passed at close range, and moved east-southeast away from the area.
