They drowned. Most drowned bodies float face down due to the weight of the arms. Smaller bodies, with smaller arms to create drag, don't always float face down. Excess fat around the torso can overcome the displacement of the water caused by the arms, meaning the body will float face up. I wonder if breast implants would have this effect. |
