In the early hours of Friday, June 30, 2017, a tragic incident unfolded at John Wayne Airport in California. A six-passenger aircraft, while attempting to land, unfortunately fell short of the runway and crashed onto a nearby freeway. The aftermath of the crash led to two individuals being airlifted to a local hospital for medical attention.

The aircraft involved was a twin-engine Cessna 310, and it's been reported that the pilot declared an emergency shortly after taking off from the airport. The aircraft was attempting to return when the crash occurred. Notably, the plane had undertaken a journey from Santa Ana to Palm Springs the day before, on Thursday afternoon.

At present, the cause of this distressing crash remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing to determine the factors that led to this unfortunate event.

This literally happened about two miles from my home, no one was killed but traffic was a frickin' nightmare.
