Blimp Explodes Near US Open at Erin Hills Golf Course in Wisconsin
A blimp crash occurred on June 15, 2017 near the US Open at the Erin Hills golf course in Wisconsin. The incident involved a thermal airship, a type of blimp that is distinct from the more commonly known helium-filled blimps like the Goodyear blimp. Thermal airships, such as the one that crashed, are essentially sophisticated hot air balloons, using heated air for lift and propelled by a small engine. The crashed blimp was a Gefa Flug AS 105GD, equipped with a 65-horsepower engine and capable of reaching speeds up to 30 mph under the right conditions. However, thermal blimps have limitations in terms of control and maneuverability. They can steer only about 60 degrees left or right of the wind's direction, making them largely dependent on wind conditions for their flight path. One of the advantages of thermal airships is their portability and cost-effectiveness. They can be compactly packed for transport and do not require the expensive helium used in traditional blimps. However, their reliance on hot air for lift and limited control can pose challenges, as seen in this incident. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) was involved in investigating the crash. Blimp crashes are rare, and the focus of the investigation would be on understanding the cause of the accident to prevent similar incidents in the future. The pilot of the blimp was reportedly rescued by a member of the chase team that follows the blimp on the ground during its flight. |

I have to admit I was disappointed. When I read the title, I thought I was going to enjoy some hot-BBW-giving-oral action. |
