Small Plane Crashes into House in Newberg, OR
A small aircraft crashed on Cedar Street in Newberg on the evening of October 3, 2023, tragically claiming the lives of two individuals and critically injuring another. The Newberg-Dundee Police Department, assisted by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, responded to the incident just before 7 p.m. The deceased, identified as Barrett Bevacqua and Michele Cavallotti, both in their early twenties from Hillsboro, were found within the wreckage. Cavallotti, an instructor with the Hillsboro Aero Academy, and Bevacqua, a student pilot, were pronounced dead at the scene. Emily Hurd, also a 20-year-old resident of Hillsboro, was the third occupant of the plane. She was airlifted to a hospital with critical injuries. Authorities confirmed that there were no injuries on the ground as a result of the crash. The investigation has been handed over to the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board to determine the cause of the accident. |

It’s a twin. Could be single engine practice gone wrong or a Vmc demo screw up. Children teaching children how to fly.

In WW2, fighter pilots on all sides tended to be a very youthful bunch. 21 or 22 was about average; 25 was considered mature, and 30 positively old aged.

And training/operational accidents happened nearly every day. The situation justified the risk and the body count.
