Plane Ditches into the Water Off Kalaupapa, Molokai Hawaii
A routine flight turned into a harrowing tale of survival when a Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft, carrying passengers off the coast of Kalaupapa, Molokai, experienced a critical engine failure and was forced to land in the ocean. The chilling moments were captured on a GoPro camera by one of the passengers, Ferdinand Puentes. The footage reveals the quiet tension inside the cabin as the plane descended towards the water. The pilot's remarkable skill was evident as he managed a successful water landing, a maneuver that undoubtedly saved the lives of those onboard. As water began to fill the aircraft, passengers scrambled to don life vests and evacuate. Puentes continued filming, capturing the urgency of the moment as passengers clung to the aircraft's wings before eventually moving away from the sinking plane. This incident is a testament to the importance of quick thinking and preparedness in emergency situations. The calm and coordinated actions of the pilot and passengers were crucial in preventing a potential tragedy. The full video of this dramatic incident was later featured in an ABC News report, providing a vivid and educational insight into the realities of emergency aircraft water landings. |

There is something wrong with that 'picture', those folks were way too calm!! Almost looked like it was staged!

Re: Plane Ditches into the Water Off Kalaupapa, Molokai Hawaii
oh wow.. and i been in a crisis that things seemed as calm.. when there is no time to scream, and only react. I can't breathe when i see things under water at all so was holding my breath through parts of this , i heard no instructions from the pilot so they did really good by themselves.
