Pilot: My Co-pilot Just Bailed Out!
Control tower chatter upon approach. No footage of the jump. Still... EDIT: As pointed out below, the video footage and type of plane shown is not from this incident. |

The video and the audio are not the same aircraft. I think it was a Cessna Caravan, if I remember correctly. Or maybe a Shorts Skyvan. |

Re: Pilot: My Co-pilot Just Bailed Out!
It was a casa 212. Here is the NTSB Report. It's not conclusive that he intentionally jumped from the plane. Although certainly possible. In brief after dumping a load of parachutists the co-pilot attempted to land in Gusty conditions and had a very hard Landing resulting in a bounce and landing gear damage. The elected to go around and divert to Raleigh-Durham during that diversion flight the co-pilot became upset and nauseous. He said he went to the back of the plane to get some air and open the rear ramp possibly to throw up. Whether he jumped from the plane or fell while trying to throw up is not known. https://legacy.wral.com/news/local/d...OGtyNlNWSkdZMw.. |

That controller is a fuckwit. How fucking scary that a person who is hired to make split second decisions and to be able to process information immediately needs to have basic statements repeated to him so he can process it.

The report reads "SIC’s departure from the airplane was an intentional act." I love the description "departure from the airplane," sounds so matter of fact.

I think he was confused by the very unusual circumstances. Although that would call into question his ability to handle emergencies which, by definition (except for Boeing aircraft |
