Re: Pictures From Lion Air Flight JT 610 That Crashed In Sea Off Jakarta
Boeing Co. said on Wednesday it had issued a safety bulletin reminding pilots how to handle erroneous data from a key sensor in the wake of last week's crash in Indonesia. The U.S. plane maker said investigators probing the Lion Air crash off the coast of Indonesia that killed all 189 people aboard found that one of the "angle of attack" sensors on the Boeing 737 Max aircraft had provided erroneous data. ![]() The angle of attack is a crucial parameter that helps the aircraft's systems understand whether it's nose is too high relative to the current airflow — a phenomenon that can throw the plane into an aerodynamic stall, the wings loose lift, and the aircraft falls. |

That video is prob of a take off. If it was a doomed aircraft then the oxygen masks would have been done and emergency positions braced.... |

Boeing didn't disclose control feature eyed in Indonesia crash, U.S. pilots say Investigators have been focused on whether the plane, Lion Air Flight 610, crashed because the system, which is designed to pull the plane out of a dangerous stall, activated based on inaccurate data transmitted or processed from sensors on the fuselage. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/13/w...sia-crash.html |

It looks like that plane was still over land in that video, but the plane in the article was fine, then crashed in the ocean, right? Nevermind. Just watched the video above that detailed the story. |
