The lockdown had just been lifted I believe it was among the first flights, you have to wonder how the maintenance of the aircraft (fleet) had been carried out if at all during that period.

Aircraft are a tad more complicated than your car.

Coronavirus: How Is Air France Maintaining Its Planes During The Lockdown?

"A grounded plane definitely needs a high maintenance depending of course on the recommendations of each constructor Boeing and Airbus. The storage of the aircraft needs to be extremely taken care of. Three types of storage are normally used: parking storage (from two to four weeks), active storage (one to three months) and long term storage (more than three months).

How are they doing all the upkeep for the planes when most airlines fired like 80 percent of their workforce

Re: Pakistan International Airlines Flight PK 8303 Crashes in Karachi

They forgot to lower the landing gear when they tried to land the first time and damaged the engines because of it. They lost both engines while trying going around to land again.

Pilot error?
