Brazil Plane Crash (LaMia Bolivia RJ85 Flight 2933)

Quote:
A plane transporting a Brazilian soccer team to Medellin's international airport in Colombia crashed late Monday night, officials said.

The charter aircraft, which took off from Bolivia, was a few dozen miles from the José María Córdova International Airport in Rionegro, Colombia, when electrical flaws were reported around 10 p.m., according to a statement from the airport.

The plane crashed shortly after in La Union, a municipality roughly 22 miles from the airport.

There were 72 passengers and nine crewmembers on board. The airport, citing law enforcement, said in a statement that at least six people survived.

Among those on board were members of the Chapecoense Brazilian soccer team that was expected to play in the Copa Sudamerica finals against Atletico Nacional on Wednesday in Medellin.

The plane is a British Aerospace 146 short-haul plane. It is not clear what caused the crash, but Colombia had been hit by heavy rains and thunderstorms in recent hours.

Re: Brazil Plane Crash (LaMia Bolivia RJ85 Flight 2933)

it was an impossibly sad day here. it was like most ppl even knew this team. like don't get me wrong this is so sad and as someone that follows football i am indeed extremely upset but everyone and their grandmas were talking about this team today and how they've always been the underdogs and now this. its was crazy

it really is. idk the full story yet but the latest on tv is that the ocntrol tower allowed for a plane to land before them and they actually ran out of fuel rather than electric failure. if so that control guy is in for some shit...the rath of a nation

the poor 2nd gk had to have his leg amputated. one of the guys is paraplegic... i mean. fuck. good vibes to them and everyone's family jfc
