One-Two-Go Airlines Flight 269 Crash That Killed 90 People
A devastating aviation tragedy unfolded on September 16, 2007, as One-Two-Go Airlines Flight 269, a domestic passenger flight in Thailand, crashed while attempting to land at Phuket International Airport in southern Thailand. The McDonnell Douglas MD-82 aircraft was carrying 130 people on board, and the consequences were dire, with 90 lives lost and numerous individuals sustaining injuries. The investigation into this catastrophic incident revealed a complex interplay of factors. Adverse weather conditions, including severe turbulence and heavy rainfall, played a significant role. The flight crew encountered challenging conditions during their approach to Phuket Airport, leading to multiple unsuccessful attempts at landing. Tragically, on the third attempt, disaster struck as the aircraft overshot the runway, crashed through the airport's perimeter wall, and ultimately broke apart. The ensuing impact and fire caused extensive damage to the aircraft and resulted in a high number of casualties. In the aftermath of the crash, there was a heightened focus on aviation safety standards and regulations within Thailand's aviation industry. This tragic event underscored the critical importance of pilot training, decision-making, and adherence to safety protocols, particularly in adverse weather conditions.

All I remember is seeing a huge crater, badly damaged roofs, broken trees and debris everywhere. We didn't have to slow down much as we were in a bright yellow, mock soft-top Lada! Top speed allows you to still see the finest details!

I personally believe her. She said she drove by the site, not that she actually saw the plane crash. I'm sure there were a lot of look-a-do's after something like that. My grandfather and uncle were a few miles from the plane that went down in Pennsylvania on Sept 11th. They were out on their 4-wheelers and heard the crahs but didn't see it.
