I was actually there when this happened, I was there when she gave up the ghost. I was in shock that unfolded in front of my very eyes, because I went to hundreds of Air shows in Dayton Ohio as a child. The blast was so loud. Man, it was chaotic after the crash.

I remember this like it was yesterday.

So very sad to lose these folks as they made so many people happy with their displays.

They went out doing what they loved to do, so don't feel sad, feel happy that they left us with a many good thought & inspired countless individuals to take up flying.

I hope that it was quick for them & may they rest in peace !

Some people who have witnessed plane crashes have called the blast "deafening". I am not a plane crash RKI but I wonder why it is so loud. A smaller biplane hitting turf at maybe 150 mph, I would expect a crunching sound instead of a deafening blast.
