This is the harrowing moment a helicopter flies over the heads of a crowded riverbank before crashing into the water.

With 3 people on board the chopper can be seen swooping across the sky.

It soon becomes clear that the pilot has lost control as he tries to steer it away from the crowds.

After passing over people for a third time it suddenly drops into the Nenjiang River in Qiqihar, China and reportedly hit a turist swimming.

It tips nose first into the water while the blades still spinning round then bursts into flames.

Eye-witnesses can be heard shouting and screaming as the chopper falls from the sky.
