Helicopter Crash at Grenchen Airport in Switzerland
On June 18th, 2008, a helicopter belonging to Heli-Swiss, an Ecureuil model, was involved in an accident at Grenchen Airport in Switzerland. The incident occurred as the helicopter was making its approach to a landing platform. According to reports, the helicopter encountered difficulties during the landing procedure, resulting in it sliding off the side of the platform. This caused the helicopter to turn on its own axis and eventually come to a standstill on its side. The nature of the accident highlights the challenges and precision required in helicopter operations, especially during landing phases. Remarkably, there were no injuries reported among the passengers or crew, which is a testament to the safety measures in place and the skill of the helicopter's pilot. However, the helicopter sustained major damage as a result of the incident. |
