Fanny Agostini & Film Crew in Hot Air Balloon Crash into the Gulf of Morbihan
A hot-air balloon accident occurred during the filming of the French TV show "Thalassa" on March 22, 2019, over the Gulf of Morbihan. The presenter of the show, Fanny Agostini, along with a cameraman, a soundman, and the pilot, experienced a frightening incident when their balloon fell into the sea. The balloon, flying at a low altitude for filming purposes, encountered an air pocket that caused it to drop suddenly. The pilot attempted to regain control, but the unexpected descent led to the cameraman being ejected from the basket into the water. Despite this, the balloon remained close to him, ensuring he was not lost at sea. The cameraman spent about ten minutes in the 11°C water before being rescued by a fishing boat, which had been contacted via radio. The primary concern was the risk of hypothermia, prompting the rescuers to provide him with dry clothes immediately. The crew and pilot were then transported to the Vannes Hospital for a check-up. Fortunately, the injuries were reported as superficial, and all involved were safe. This incident occurred on the last day of shooting for the "Thalassa" episode titled "Morbihan, an archipelago in Brittany," which was scheduled to be broadcast on April 8. Despite the accident, the team members escaped with more fear than harm. However, the footage shot before the accident was likely rendered unusable, and Agostini lost her phone during the incident. |

That's one way to get her into a wet 'T' shirt contest ...and for the operator, if you add more heat, the balloon rises. |

"Here we are! Feeling good on this hot-air balloon..." Something tell me she'd regret a bit her first words after the great dive... |
