Well, that's a Bald Eagle, and their main diet is fish and carrion and pretty much whatever garbage they can find. As for pigeon, that would be wood pigeon you'd eat, not city pigeon. Also, you'd have to watch out for parasites in both. Me, I'm a vegetarian.  |

Damn I was going to mention the plane was a C 130, and that the image is shopped. We have wedged tailed eagles here that chase my models, I had one confused yesterday as I slowed down to let it catch up the the planes tail I pulled a loop and ended up behind it, it shit itself and pissed off lol. If I ever tag one my plane will come off second best, but I will be sure to post images. |

The pilot is not pleased at his internet photo. He is happy he is alive. Aviation deaths from bird strikes are pretty common. Hitting a bird is something like having a shotgun fired at you, including the noise. It is unbelievably violent. They don't just go "Whack" on the windshield. It is like a shotgun blast of feathers, meat, and blood. I have repaired aircraft after bird strikes, and it is nasty, smelly, and gross. Also they do a lot of structural damage such as torn skin sections, bent intercostals and ribs, etc. One foot over and that guy probably would be dead.
