Yet another incident to add to my list of reasons for not getting in an airplane.

Wow. The first time I watched it I thought it was in slow-motion. Had to watch it again to see that was real-time. He got it level for a perfect belly-flop though...trying right up until the end I bet. Hope it didn't hurt for long.

Re: Death Video of Air Cargo Boeing 747 Crash at Bagram Airfield

This has got to be the most surreal video on here. And there's a lot on here.

I'm thinking the audio was editing some - perhaps removing location or any broadcast to someone or something? I can't imagine that watching that happen, there is no panicked breathing, no verbal "Holy shit", no calls to anyone... and just one Oh shit - a minute after it happens. If I'd seen that - I'd think I'd at least have said something out loud. Not to say that it shouldn't be edited if that was the case, but I can't think of anyone who doesn't see something like that up close and personal just acting all calm. In fact, I think I'd have been mumbling for at least 10 minutes...

But wow on the video. And yep, every copy I've seen has the DR watermark on it except one from the news which obviously removes the outer edges of it and zooms in which makes me think they did that to get the watermark out.

We had a similar incident in Kenner, Louisiana, I can't remember if the plane was taking off or landing, but control was lost, and it crashed in the middle of a busy highway

my guess is that he's military and for all he knows the base is under attack. coolly assessing the sitch. he speaks english, so he's prolly from the base. looks like it might be a humvee type vehicle based on the offroading. probably wants everything quiet while he tries to put it together, hence telling the dog "not now". the guy seems to have his shit together. just a guess.

Re: Death Video of Air Cargo Boeing 747 Crash at Bagram Airfield

That truck that goes by fast: I think it's visible in the video right when the plane hits the ground and the flames come out. If you look from 00:24, there's an object sticking out of the ground across the road on the other side. Right behind that object to the right at the bottom of the flames, you can see the silhouette of a truck moving left to right. Is that the same truck? To me it looks like the truck was extremely close to death and that might have something to do with why it was going to fast. (because the driver was freaking out).

Re: Death Video of Air Cargo Boeing 747 Crash at Bagram Airfield

Video of Bagram plane crash legitimate, U.S. official says
(CNN) -- American authorities have concluded that a widely seen video does show the U.S. civilian-operated cargo jet that crashed in Afghanistan last week, a U.S. government official said Monday.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is being handled by Afghan authorities, did not give details on how U.S. authorities came to that conclusion.

The National Airlines jet crashed shortly after takeoff from Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, killing all seven people aboard, officials said. National Airlines specializes in moving freight for the military and businesses.

Multiple factors to examine in 747 probe After the crash, the video of a plane crash surfaced, apparently captured by a dashboard camera inside a vehicle on the base. The approximately three-minute video shows what appears to be the National Airlines jet as it started its climb around 11:20 a.m. April 29.

About 12 seconds into the video, the Boeing 747-400 appears to stall, rolls from side to side, and drops. At 23 seconds, the plane crashes nose first into the ground off the side of the road, erupting into a ball of orange flame and black smoke.

National Air Cargo, the parent of National Airlines, said the flight had refueled at Bagram en route from Camp Bastion, a British military base in Afghanistan, to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
