Re: Cockpit Camera Captures Russian Student's Plane Crash
It stopped flying and became a lump of heavy metal, simple physics |

Re: Cockpit Camera Captures Russian Student's Plane Crash
Damn, seems like the pilot was trying to clear the forest, but lost altitude... Wondering if maintenance and upkeep of the aircraft is even done??? There is always stuff that needs to be checked routinely and overhauled as needed, especially aircraft. Considering they are in Russia, I bet the pilot does a quick once over of the aircraft and calls it a day, IF THAT... More than likely he's the one doing the maintenance on the aircraft as well |

Re: Cockpit Camera Captures Russian Student's Plane Crash
Looks like the student made a landing with the flight instructor on the throttle (seems weird). They veered off the runway heading and towards the trees. The flight instructor pulled the throttle back a bit but then went full throttle shortly after. The student (left seat) initiated a turn at such a low airspeed (bottom of the white arc which is VSO, stall speed in the landing configuration Full flaps and gear down). When you turn, you lose some of your vertical component of lift and if not counteracted, you'll lose altitude. Seems like since he was so close to the stall speed, he wasn't able to gain any altitude and entered the classic stall spin scenario that is common in the traffic pattern.
