On November 10, 2015, a tragic accident occurred in Akron, Ohio, involving a chartered Hawker 800 jet. The aircraft, carrying nine individuals, struck power lines and crashed into an apartment building, resulting in a catastrophic fire. All nine people aboard the plane, which included seven passengers and two crew members, were fatally injured. The passengers were employees of Pebb Enterprises, a Florida-based property management firm. Remarkably, there were no casualties or injuries on the ground, despite the severity of the crash and the subsequent fire.

The jet, operated by ExecuFlight, a Fort Lauderdale-based company, was on its final leg of a multi-city business trip. It had traveled from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and made stops in St. Paul, Minnesota; Moline, Illinois; St. Louis, Missouri; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport in Miamisburg, Ohio, before heading to Akron. The accident occurred around 2:53 p.m. EST, approximately four miles from the runway at Akron Fulton International Airport.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) identified the incident as a result of multiple failures. Augusto Lewkowicz, president of ExecuFlight, asserted that the aircraft had been properly maintained and there were no indications of any issues prior to the crash. The area impacted by the crash was mostly residential, but it also included some local businesses. Fortunately, the apartment building struck by the jet was unoccupied at the time of the crash

Paige McVeigh was on Snapchat when the crash happened. She tweeted video that shows the moment the plane crashed into the apartment building.

McVeigh says the building consists of three buildings. The middle building was struck by the plane. According to McVeigh, no one was inside the apartments when the crash happened.

I saw on the news that they talked with some of the employees of the real estate business that chartered the jet, and ALL of their management was on board. The whole company was decapitated.
All their executives, and all their managers were on board.
I wonder what the employees will do now.
Another sad thing, is one of the secretaries with the company was invited to go along, and it was her first flight in a business jet, and she was really excited. It ended pretty badly for her........

This was on the show "Air Disasters" and it was determined that the two pilots were at fault for being incompetent and the company they worked for not checking and verifying their background and experience. Both pilots had been fired from previous employers.

NTSB found the following:

* Mismanagement of Approach
* Deviation from operating procedures
* Company Lax Hiring and Training practices
* The company did not enforce and did not make sure that all pilots
were following company SOP and policies.

NTSB went on to say "They broke so many rules it makes you wonder who trained them."
