Channel 4 Helicopter Crash in New York City
On May 4, 2004, a helicopter belonging to WNBC, Channel 4, crashed into the roof of a Brooklyn apartment building. The helicopter, used for news reporting, was covering a shooting in the Flatbush area at the time. Remarkably, the crash resulted in no fatalities, either among the helicopter's occupants or residents of the building. The helicopter pilot, Russel Torbett, and the reporter, Andrew Torres, both experienced minor injuries but were able to walk away from the crash. The incident occurred in the afternoon, and the quick response of emergency services played a key role in ensuring the safety of the helicopter's occupants and the building's residents. Investigations following the crash focused on the cause, which was initially suspected to be mechanical failure. The helicopter lost power and experienced difficulties, leading to the pilot making an emergency landing on the roof of the apartment building.

Re: Channel 4 Helicopter Crash in New York City
great video, I was actually watching my catch up on demand digital box yesterday and there is program called "is that a nail in your head?" and they basically show videos of people having insane accidents and then show now they were fixed up by the medical teams. this clip was on it and they had interviews with the pilot. once saw one where someone did a base jump and chute didnt open and that was caught on film never seen that jump video anywhere else that was really masculine ![]() |
