Cessna Plane Crashes on Street Hitting Cars in St Petersburg, Florida
In St. Petersburg, Florida, a small plane experienced a crash that led to multiple car collisions on Wednesday afternoon. The local St. Pete police and fire departments swiftly responded to the incident, which occurred at the intersection of 18th Avenue South and 16th Street South. Onboard the plane were two individuals, while a total of four people involved in the incident were transported to nearby hospitals, and one person received on-site medical treatment. According to information from the FAA website, the plane involved in the crash is a 1978 model Cessna 402b, owned by Noble Charter Service, operating out of Opa Locka airport. The unexpected sight of a plane crash startled witnesses, including store owner Derar Ahmad, who initially mistook it for a school bus or a truck. He recounted the moment, stating, "We never thought it was going to be an airplane." Surveillance footage revealed a black car narrowly escaping a collision with the aircraft, emphasizing the fortunate timing of events. Tabitha Callihan commended the pilot for their decision to land the plane in the location it did, considering that it prevented potential hazards involving nearby school children. She noted that the plane went down sideways, narrowly avoiding a more densely populated area. |

I lived one block from there and was getting in my truck when it came down. Saw the whole thing. I have always fantasized about seeing a plane crash. I get my hair cut at that barber shop that you see the two gentlemen exit and start running after.
