Carl Zetterlund Helicopter Crash Video
On June 24, 2005, Carl Zetterlund, a Swedish centenarian who miraculously survived a helicopter crash on his 100th birthday, has tragically succumbed to his injuries. The incident unfolded as Zetterlund, accompanied by his son, grandson, and great-grandson, embarked on a helicopter journey to celebrate his milestone birthday in the picturesque Stockholm archipelago. However, the celebratory flight took a harrowing turn when the Lithuanian-registered MI-2 helicopter crashed shortly after departing from the nursing home in Heby, located approximately 100 kilometers northwest of Stockholm. Remarkably, all occupants of the ill-fated flight emerged with no more than minor cuts and bruises, a testament to their resilience. Nevertheless, as a precautionary measure, the 100-year-old Zetterlund was airlifted to Uppsala University Hospital for medical evaluation. At the time of the crash, his condition was considered stable. Tragically, his health deteriorated, and he passed away the following day, as confirmed by the hospital. Authorities launched an investigation into the incident, which was captured on film by a Swedish television crew. The circumstances surrounding the crash, in which a centenarian exhibited remarkable resilience, will be subject to legal scrutiny as authorities seek to understand the factors that led to the helicopter's mishap. |
