On October 29, 2013, a Canadian pilot flew off course and crashed at Nashville International Airport in Tennessee. Dense fog delayed the discovery of the wreckage for several hours. The pilot was reportedly stalking singer Taylor Swift.

Instrument conditions at the time included one-quarter-mile horizontal visibility and a 100-foot ceiling. Investigators found that the non-instrument-rated pilot continued visual flight into night instrument conditions and struck the runway while attempting to land. Alcohol impairment, the pilot's mental state, and flying from Canada without the owner's permission or proper clearances were listed as contributing factors.
