It's hard finding information in english, that isn't old. Do the players remember anything and know the others died? I know sometimes families don't want them to know right away.I am curious as to what the surviving players know.

alan ruschel's (a player the one that has spine injuries) sister is the only one giving info on that. she said when he woke up he couldn't remember anything and asked if anyone else got hurt and they chose not to tell him immediately in fear of him getting panicked because he had just gotten out of machines and improved. today she posted that he was told with the help of a psychologist and had some trouble breathing and with his heart rate. its all in her instagram if you'd like a crack at a translator haha some of this info was given by interview to Globo the biggest network in brazil but most of it is in her instagram : https://www.instagram.com/axi_ruschel/

i haven't heard about the others though. the gk that had his leg amputated probably knows because they reported he told doctors he is "happy he just lost a leg and not his life" but im speculating

Thank you for the update!! So sad about all the stories of how this could have easily been prevented. All those lives lost because of negligence.

it's been a gigantic tragedy here. we take football superr serious as everyone knows. idk a single person not a little bit shocked or touched by this especially because of the negligence and how young everyone was and how hard they were working. they have 78 scheduled games next year. idk how that's even gonna work. its all crazy. all for some dumbass that didnt want to pay a fine smh

there's confirmation today that none of the survivors are at risk anymore. they've all shown significant improvements are in the same hospital, are aware of what happened and of each other state's with the exception of Neto, one of the players that's being kept sedated as protocol.

Chapecoense officially awarded title of Copa Sudamericana after plane crash
CONMEBOL officially awarded Brazilian side Chapecoense with the 2016 Copa Sudamericana on Monday.

Chapeco officials had said on Saturday that the title would be posthumously bestowed upon the Brazilian side after a plane carrying the team crashed en route to the Copa final last Monday, taking the lives of 71 people on board -- including 19 players.

On Monday, the news was made official, with CONMEBOL also announcing that rival club Atletico Nacional would be given an award for fair play.

The Colombian side, who would have been Chapecoense's opponents in the the two-legged final, campaigned for the title to be given to the Brazilian club earlier this week.

Speaking after a memorial in Chapeco on Saturday, Chapecoense interim president Ivan Tozzo said that the title -- complete with the winners' prize money -- will be awarded by the South American football confederation to the club.

"CONMEBOL have testified that they will crown Chapecoense as champions of the Copa Sudamericana," Tozzo told Globo.

"We are receiving support from all federations. The CBF, CONMEBOL, FIFA, and especially the people of Chapeco.

"Right now we are beginning to rebuild the team. People want football, people love football in Chapeco.

"Therefore, we must continue this. Let's talk and do well, let the dust settle and rebuild the team for next year."

"Atletico Nacional have invited CONMEBOL to deliver the Copa Sudamericana title to the Chapecoense Football Association as an honour for their great loss and in posthumous homage to the victims of the tragic accident that has our sport in mourning," a statement said.

"For us, and forever, Chapecoense shall be the Copa Sudamericana champions for 2016."

What fine?? What's the latest as being the cause? So many different stories. !!

Are the players that didn't go on the trip still going to play for the team? I would imagine so,but I'm sure everyone is emotionally distraught. Have they released any statements?
