Boeing 747 Jet's Wheel Falls to the Runway Seconds After Takeoff
In a startling turn of events, a plane encountered a wheel malfunction mere seconds after taking off from Italy en route to the United States. The incident involved a Boeing 747-400 Dreamlifter departing from Taranto-Grottaglie Airport in southern Italy, bound for Charleston, South Carolina. Video footage captured the cargo plane accelerating on the runway.
