A Boeing passenger plane crashed during its landing in Kazan, central Russia, resulting in the tragic loss of fifty lives, as reported by the Emergencies Ministry. A doctor present at the scene described the devastating aftermath, with only remnants of the plane remaining. The passenger aircraft involved was a Boeing 737-500 operated by the regional Tatarstan airline. It exploded following the crash landing at Kazan airport, which occurred at 15:25 GMT. The aircraft's nose made contact with the ground during the touchdown. The ill-fated Flight U363 had departed from Moscow Domodedovo airport. Initially, the crash was reported to have claimed the lives of 44 individuals. However, the Federal Air Transport Agency later confirmed that a total of 50 people, including six crew members, were aboard the plane, and tragically, all perished in the accident. The victims' list released by the Emergencies Ministry included an 11-year-old girl, highlighting the devastating toll of the crash. Among those on board, Irek Minnikhanov, the son of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, also lost his life in the tragic incident. Rescue teams have successfully recovered the bodies of all 50 individuals from the crash site, as reported by Tatarstan's Disaster Medicine Center. Their current focus is on locating the flight data recorders to aid in understanding the circumstances of the crash. |
