According to the police report, the driver told officers he was not paying attention to where he was driving, instead looking down at his tablet when he struck Davis.
I think there is a lesson learned there. If you let a twenty-something driver bring the tablet in to the cab, of course they are going to view it and drive distracted.

I don't know airport ground rules, but I see that was a well marked road. Aren't the ground guides supposed to stay out of the roads when guiding planes?

I don't know airport ground rules, but I see that was a well marked road. Aren't the ground guides supposed to stay out of the roads when guiding planes?
Ground vehicles are supposed to give way to aircraft and people ar all times. The painted Vehicle Service Road is a guide for the route that is supposed to be taken.
