Ambulance Plane Crashes into Shallow River in Ecuador
An aviation accident in Ecuador, a Piper PA-31 Navajo, modified with winglets, crashed into the shallow waters of Río Salitre near Salitre Canton, located in the Guayas province. The aircraft had taken off from Lago Agrio Airport at 10:23 and was scheduled to arrive at José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport by 12:08. The crash claimed the lives of all on board, including both pilots and four passengers, who were a team of medical professionals comprising doctors and a nurse, along with a patient they were accompanying. The loss of these lives marks a somber moment, particularly poignant given the presence of healthcare professionals and a patient involved in the crash.   |

Wonder if he got a load of jet fuel instead of avgas? Sounded like a really rough-running engine. Then it smoothed out and sounded very powerful, so think he switched fuel tanks. But his airspeed was too low, and then it stalled/spun in. You can hear the engines rev as he is going down. Got good fuel just a little too late. Just my opinion. Others may vary. |
