Aeronca 7DC-CONV Crash Near Fort Mill, SC

A single-engine Aeronca 7DC-CONV, N3058E, crashed near Fort Mill, SC, on May 5, 2023. The aircraft sustained substantial damage, and no injuries were reported.

The crash was caused by the pilot's failure to apply carburetor heat before starting a descent in conditions favorable for carburetor icing. Carburetor ice led to a partial loss of engine power.
