Aeroflot Tu-124 Ditches in the Neva River, 1963
On August 21, 1963, an Aeroflot Tupolev Tu-124 ditched in the Neva River in Leningrad after running out of fuel while holding because of a faulty nose gear. All 52 people aboard survived without injury. The incident was attributed to maintenance and pilot error.  ·  ·  ·
