Re: Wealth Inequality in America
People need to demand change. As Long as people keep on buying that making rich people richer will benefit the middle class, it will keep on going in the direction it is. it's everything from free trade that killed our manufacturing while making the rich richer, a minimum wage that lags behind productivity and inflation by miles, tax rates that make zero sense...... And a vocal right wing media that promotes it to the people that can least afford it. |

Re: Wealth Inequality in America
No one outside the US is a superpower and if anyone was, I wouldn't have any problem making the acknowledgments. America has separated themselves so far from the competition that it will take at least another 20 years of steady free fall for any other country to come close to bringing about a challenge. The Chinese are on their way to challenging the US and guess what? They have have been embracing Capitalism. Imagine that. The one country that is going to accomplish the seemingly impossible feat of surpassing the US economy is going to do so with the help of Capitalism. I'm sorry to say that the US continues to stand alone as the worlds only superpower, but don't worry, you'll get your wish and we shall be eclipsed. I think its safe to say that US would wipe the floor with the UK in all out total conventional warfare. Their biggest air craft carriers named after the wretched cunt Queen Elizabeth isn't due out till 2016 and they only hold half (40 each) the air craft that all 10 active US carriers hold (80 + each); not to mention the UKs lack of experience to simultaneously operate such massive fleets throughout the world. And I'm just talking Naval power. The UK does not have the capability of projecting real power anywhere on the globe but someday they will. I wish the UK would embrace Capitalism so they can (Quickly) stand next to the US as a fellow Superpower. |

Re: Wealth Inequality in America
GB is years ahead of the United States in so many aspects. The US has the greatest GDP and is the military arm of the West, sure, but this is the first generation of Americans that wont do better than the generation that came before it. Meanwhile in Europe, and more importantly, places like France and the UK, people are happier, and they make more money.
