Villisca Axe Murders
First off, is this the correct place to post this? I also did a search to see if this case had a thread. Didn't see anything. Anyway, is anyone familiar with this case? It happened back in 1912 in Villisca, Iowa. 2 adults, their 4 kids had their head hacked off as they slept. 2 little girls nearby also met the same fate, I believe. It was never solved. Today it remains a "death house." They do ghost shows in it. I can't find any crime scene photos. |

Re: Villisca Axe Murders
I can't understand why it doesn't get more play. I only heard about it from an extra on the "Sinister" Bluray. It featured a guy who lived next door to the 'death house,' which would be this family's house. He said the name, and I googled it. Ghost hunter shows have gone there apparently. Still, I watch so many true crime shows, and this case has never popped up. It's pretty fascinating. |

Re: Villisca Axe Murders
Ghost Adventures did an episode there. It was an interesting one. I want to say I've seen the pics somewhere, I'll see if I can find them... I could be thinking of Lizzie Borden pics though...

Re: Villisca Axe Murders
I was looking for Lizzy Borden type photographs. I remember the one of her stepmother lying face down on the bedroom floor, and with this case, it also took place in a bedroom.

Re: Villisca Axe Murders
Here's a thread that Ed Gein made last year, he's particularly interested in this case as well. I don't think there are any crime scene pics in existence. http://www.documentingreality.com/fo...d.php?t=104409

Re: Villisca Axe Murders
According to an interview with (I think) the owner of the home, there are no money shots of those poor dead souls. Not to mention the fact that the entire neighborhood was allowed to walk through the crime scene, contaminating it. It doesn't seem they were able to preserve the crime scene at all.
