Re: The Unknown Story of Hitler & His Dogs (1917-1945)

Adolf has few friends on the Western Front. That is not only due to his unpleasant character. Almost all friends die in action - while Adolf again and again miraculously escapes from death.
He did not "miraculously" escape from death! He was a postman and NEVER got in ANY fight. In one of his post jobs he "miraculously" stumbled upon a gas attack and therefore had a lung disease for the rest of his life. Every single story about fighting in WWI, that he told in his autobiography, is a lie.
Later this will be a reason for many a myth about the superb, but alas, lost, painting art by Hitler.
Neither lost, nor superb:

He was an animal lover in general and a vegetarian I think.
I'm afraid, "vegetarian" is way too optimistic! His usual meal consisted of soya beans, vitamin pills and some downers.

Re: The Unknown Story of Hitler & His Dogs (1917-1945)

Saying animal lovers are automatically good people, is naive. On the contrary, I have seen many people grow a fixation on animals because they can't deal with, or even hate humans. Hitler had tremendous social/interpersonal issues. Obviously he would look for solace in a dog.

Other than that, I think minus the genocide and stuff, I could have gotten along very well with Hitler on a level of hobbies, personality etc.

your hatred for pit bulls is pathetic. you're just another weak manchild looking for an easy target to discriminate against.

Re: The Unknown Story of Hitler & His Dogs (1917-1945)

That dog was most likely a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, not a Pitbull, the ears of a Mature Pitbull stick up and are generally pointed...and the ears of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier tend to flop down.

Just thought I'd clear that up

2 Great choice of Dogs, a Staff and German Shepherd (which is what I have)

Re: The Unknown Story of Hitler & His Dogs (1917-1945)

Not actually a vegetarian, but he went on binges of avoiding meat. Not all vegetarians eat that way because they love animals and other living beings. Many--including most Americans--do it because they feel it promotes good health, or will improve performance in a task. Some religions require it, such as certain Buddhist sects, Jains, some sects of Hinduism, Seventh-Day Adventists, etc. Even many Mormons are vegetarian, or come close, believing that meat is best treated as a "condiment," as one put it to me.

Hitler had ongoing digestive/GI tract problems, and believed meat made them worse. He consumed "mass quantities" (as in the Coneheads; couldn't help myself, lol) of cream puffs and puddings, since he felt they eased/soothed his digestion. But he still ate meat when his symptoms were under control.

I've always wondered if he had a lactose deficiency. Often people believe it only occurs in Asian and black folks, but about 10% to 15% of white people have it, too. The farther north in Europe from which a person is descended, the more likely s/he is to tolerate milk as an adult. If Hitler lacked the ability to digest milk, his curative diet actually prevented him from getting well--even made it worse. He also complained of abdominal pain. I wonder if he had an ulcer? It's even possible he had Crohn's Disease or ulcerative colitis, both of which can be exacerbated by milk. Note that I'm talking about unfermented milk, not yogurt, kefir, buttermilk, nor other cultured dairy products.
