well ya know, exactly. Where are the parents tho that call victim upon themselves when they arent seeing thier kids get mauled by a strange dog. Then the owners for not tending the dog, aw fuck it, from now on, if you die its your fault, if your under 18 its thier fault.

My ex-girlfriend had a pitbull and he was a pussycat. It's unfortunate that they are labeled the way they are. I donate to my local SPCA a couple of times a year and pit bulls make up the majority of the dogs there.

We've had aggressive pits here,after numerous complaints they finally got put down after attacking a bicylcist riding in the alley.The man who had them had a broken fence that he refused to fix,so the dogs darted in and out as they pleased,growling and attacking anything in their paths

My cousin was one of those people who says "oh pit bulls are picked on,they're sweeter than any dog" until the pit he raised from a pup attacked his young daughter unprovoked,scarring her for life.

Lets see sunshine, compare an average of 33 to an average of 1460 and I'll have to say again that pit bulls are safer than parents.

Your story about the dogs and the bicyclist is a story of a piss poor owner. The dog cannot be faulted for the actions or non actions of it's owner.

As for your kin, who knows.They obviously missed the warning signs. There were signs, they just have to be recognized . Unfortunately dogs as well as kids don't come with instructions.

That is utterly infantile. A dog cannot feed or clothe a child, thus is would be sure to die if it were left in the hands of a mutt.

Try argue that pit bulls are superior babysitters in court and see where you end up.

Good thread, I'm happy it's here. I haven't read the the whole thread, but my Sam is a Pit Bull... and the first dog I've ever had, as a responsible adult.

He's just a DOG, and I'm just a MAN. I'm not a dog-fighter, or a drug dealer, or any other kind of criminal or thug wanna-be. I AM a "typical" Pit Bull owner though.

You will never read about Sam in the newspaper, unless he does something heroic to save me. Even then, the media would probably post the headline as "heroic DOG saves master." If it were negative press, it would read: "Viscious PIT BULL attacks master."

The fact is, that for every ONE that makes bad press, there are a million that don't make any press at all. Because they're just DOGS!

It's their strength, and "gameness" that attracts the breed to thugs and dog fighters though. So it's the PEOPLE, who get them for all the wrong reasons, who are to blame for their BAD RAP.

Photobucket is down right now, dammit. I was gonna post a bunch of pictures of Sam, to show what a typical, muscled clown of a dog, that most Pit Bulls are. I've posted them in a few other threads though.

For those of you that have had bad experiences with "Pit Bulls," I advise you to, look at the owner, especially if it was your own dog. It doesn't take a genius to raise a dog. There's a wealth of FREE dog training info on the interwebz, if you have the intelligence to fuckin google something.
