Re: The Truth About Pit Bulls.
i do believe that pit bulls are mislabeled. Where i live i know 3 PB's and they are dolls whereas we had a chow bite at out neighbor for no reason. the only time i have witnessed a pitbull snarl and angry was when there was a bear in our farmyard.

Re: The Truth About Pit Bulls.
Psht, if my dog gets shot and the bullet doesn't bounce off of her, I want a refund. Pitties really are the best though. Sweetest dogs I've ever had. More fun facts-- Golden Retrievers also score lower than APBT's on temperament tests The most decorated military dog was a pit bull (and now they are banned on all bases...) Another reason there are so many reports of pit bull attacks is because when they do attack, it's ugly, because they are large and strong dogs. No one runs to report an attack that just leaves a little puncture wound. And then you add that whenever a large remotely pit bull looking dog attacks, it's reported as a pit bull, and all of the sudden there's a pit bull attack every where you look. Even with all the rescued fighting dogs I've dealt with, I've never seen one bite a person or animal. The only dog that really bit me and made me bleed was a yorkie, and the only serious attack on another dog I've seen was done by a wheaton. Territorial little thing almost took the other dog's ear off. If the thing about the skull digging into the brain is true, then that's really interesting. All the more reason to buy from responsible breeders! |

Re: The Truth About Pit Bulls.
There is no sense of truth in this room. If you point anything out that could be seen as negative its called a myth, i talked here till my head spun. "Truth" is a relative term to how factual the information is. Try to explain that pit-bulls are susceptible to brain problems when they are inbred; you would have thought I said pit-bull owners were child molesters. (ps I own a 12 year old pitbull that I love, best dog Ive ever owned) |

Re: The Truth About Pit Bulls.
Pitbulls are fine, it's just silly owners that make them dangerous. I think it should be some kind of license to hold dogs above certain weight, not everybody is prepared to take that responsability. I've had dogs since I was a child, big breeds, even one of those "killer dogs" a rottweiler, who was a lovely dog, a "presa canario"(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perro_de_Presa_Canario) a dog that is also feared at my country like pitbulls do, and was by far the best dog I've ever had, he was killed by thieves defending my home. Never had a single problem with my dogs bitting someone. It's not a matter of breed, more a matter of brain just my 2 cents |

Re: The Truth About Pit Bulls.
Seems pretty clear by looking at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._United_States ... pit bulls are by far the most dangerous dog around. Around half of all fatal attacks are by pit bulls. |
