I think the sharks bit into a wreck that was Bob Marley's boat, ate a ton of weed and were just totally mellow.

Also this shark calming is done by overloading the sharks electrical sensors with touches, they become confused and docile.
So all I have to do if a Tiger Shark comes after me for lunch is pet it into submission? lol ;-)

I definitely believe sharks are misunderstood. Most attacks happen because we look strikingly similar to a large turtle when we're on surf boards. The ocean is their territory; we are the guests.

Nurse sharks and lemon sharks are two species which in my experiance are curious not aggressive. Sure there have been several attacks, but none fatal.

Thankyou- tonic immobility is sensory overload for the shark. He becomes confused, then rapidly calms, submiting to the diver's strokes going into a trance-like state. There is a video- guy named Manny, once the free-diving champion of the world, who can do this with GREAT WHITES! Calming them & even swimming with them. Fascinating stuff! Great video
