Thanks to an underwater drone, curious researchers of the Pacific Ocean managed to capture an unusual bigfin squid from the genus Magnapinna at a depth of 3.3 km.

A similar aquatic inhabitant with tentacles up to 8 meters long was first recorded more than a century ago in 1907, after which they were lucky enough to document encounters with it only 20 times.
