San Francisco Earthquake 1906
for more threads like this one : http://www.documentingreality.com/fo...me-line-45276/ At 5:12 a.m on Wednesday April 18 1906 San Francisco was struck by an earthquake measuring 8.3 on the richter scale lasting 75 seconds. The earthquake and the fires from the earthquake caused 3,000+ death's and left close to 300,000 people homeless. The cause of the earthquake was from a rupture in the San Andreas Fault two miles offshore of San Francisco. Below are the first color photos of the earthquake taken by Frederick Eugene Ives and footage of the aftermath. |
