God damned Normandy, what a clusterfuck. Can you imagine the feelings, not to mention the pucker factor of the soldiers that were approaching the beach knowing they are about to die very shortly after the door opens on the landing craft. What a fucking blood bath.

Interesting note about the invasion beach pics. Robert Capa actually had 80 more pictures...much more than the ones you see. They were all part of a parcel that was sent back to England for developing immediately after the landings, and the processor, in his excitement to see them, overexposed them, and destroyed all the other pictures. Of all, I think there are less than 20 that survived. Such a shame.
